The amusement park presented an impressive outdoor lighting installation after sunset
Denmark - From 18 to 24 October 2021, more than 82,000 guests visited Fårup Sommerland to experience a very special illumination event. Under the title Lysfald (Light Falling), the Danish amusement park presented an impressive outdoor lighting installation after sunset, for which the provider responsible – Profox – used more than 200 Cameo spotlights.
Since the installation covered an area equivalent to approximately 55 football fields, Profox was only able to use spotlights that can be controlled from a central point via W-DMX. In total, the experienced service provider deployed 120 Zenit W300 and 24 Zenit W600 outdoor LED wash lights, 72 Drop B4 outdoor uplights, and eight Q-Spot 40I outdoor spotlights at Fårup Sommerland. While the Zenit W300 was used to illuminate the large rides and trees, the Zenit W600 provided an impressive option for the extensive illumination of the forest areas. “The W600 is so bright that we can illuminate huge areas with just a few units,” explains Profox’s Rasmus Stoltenberg.
The Drop B4 uplights were distributed over several kilometres along pavements and the site’s access road, occasionally also being used for trees and building facades. The Q-Spot 40i spots were dedicated to a specific function: to illuminate objects from great distances. Thanks to the lights’ compact dimensions, Profox was able to place the spots almost invisibly in a wide variety of locations.
For the Lysfald project, Profox further expanded its existing Cameo portfolio to include around 150 new Cameo units. “For us, the workmanship is a key factor. All of the models are extremely durable and offer an impressively high level of light quality – and all this at a price that no competitor can match,” says Simon Aagaard, Profox’s managing director.
