Germany - The Bangaluu club in Berlin, housed in the former city centre post office, has been transformed into a sprawling complex that houses a lounge, a dance floor on stage, and a VIP dinner club where the guests literally recline while they dine on a sea of white beds.

The company responsible for the technical design of Bangaluu's sound and light systems was Atlantis Sound of Berlin. Managers Andreas Seeringer and Benjamin Preuß had already had very positive experiences with HK Audio products on earlier projects, and so for their new project they again contacted the sound specialists from southwest Germany.

HK Audio Installation Line speakers were selected for all areas of Bangaluu. The bed-filled restaurant, an area of 220 square metres, was equipped with four IL 12.1 loudspeaker cabinets, four IL 12.2 cabinets, and two IL 218 subwoofers, all in white, driven by a DSM 2050 controller with VX 2400 power amps.

"The sound design for the dinner club alone took two days. On the one hand, the requirements specified low but clear background music for regular restaurant operation, but on the other hand, they also wanted to be able to use the entire system for conference moderation and other live applications," according to Carsten Krause of HK.

The lounge bar in the foyer features eight IL 8.1 cabinets and two IL 115 Subs, plus four IL 10.61 mid/high units for background reinforcement. "Positioning and installation of the sound system was not at all easy, but both customer and manufacturer are very satisfied with the result", adds Krause.

In the stage area, six black IL 15.2 loudspeakers and four IL 218 Sub cabinets were installed, driven by three HK Audio Digital Field Controllers together with VX 2400 power amps, to provide the desired kick on the dance floor. Additional IL 12.1 cabinets serve as background coverage and DJ monitors.
