The E4 and E5 from d&b audiotechnik
USA - Roger Keim who heads up the marketing department at d&b audiotechnik Inc. knew exactly why the company wanted to have a presence at the first ever PLASA Focus in Austin Texas.

"The idea of regional trade events is very appealing to d&b audiotechnik because of the more personalised opportunities it affords our clients. We also recognise that the tie-up between ESTA and the PLASA organisation can only strengthen the industry's voice at government level; so we felt it was doubly important to support this inaugural show."

The d&b audiotechnik booth featured two distinctly different loudspeakers this year, both from the Black range. Part of the T-Series is the T10, a multifunctional cabinet that can be used either as a line array or as a high directivity point source loudspeaker. The HF driver is fitted to a unique waveguide horn producing vertical linesource directivity with a 90° horizontal pattern. Rotation of the horn by 90° relative to this produces an accurate point source dispersion 90°(h)by 35°(v), transforming a vertically oriented T10 into a stand-alone full range loudspeaker, with just the twist of the wrist.

Alongside the T10 was the teenyweeny E4, part of the newly launched additions to the d&b E-Series and also one of the littlest loudspeakers in the company's product range, weighing in at just 2.4 lbs. Intended for both speech and music reinforcement ina mobile environment and as surround sound, delay or fill systems, theE4 presents a wide symmetrical dispersion pattern in the horizontal and vertical plane. It can be mounted in either attitude, are weather protected and suitable for temporary outdoor use as standard. The E-Series is also available with a Special Colour (SC) option.

"There is nothing mysterious about the d&b audiotechnik philosophy of democracy for listeners, and being part of these smaller more regional shows is just part of it" concluded Keim.
