USA - Digigram unveiled AQONDA for the first time in the US at InfoComm 2009. In essence, a remotely-controllable EtherSound stagebox, AQONDA is capable of transforming up to 16 analogue audio signals into as many EtherSound channels, and injecting them into an EtherSound network. Building on the success of Digigram's original EtherSound bridges, ES8-mic, ES8-in and ES8-out, AQONDA combines the functionality of all these devices in a single 2U rackmount unit and incorporates additional network and control capabilities.

The device is available in two formats: AQONDA-8 which is 8-in/8-out, and AQONDA-16 which is the 16-in/16-out version. The inputs are of high quality and switchable between microphone and line level. The microphone preamps are also high end to ensure that audio quality remains uncompromised throughout. The preamps may be remotely controlled from any digital console with EtherSound compatibility. Finally, AQONDA is the first device to be compatible with both ES-100 and ES-Giga. A switch located on the unit allows users to select which protocol they wish to use.

According to Digigram's EtherSound product manager, Joffrey Heyraud, AQONDA is the direct response to customer demand. "Our ES-8 products have been extremely popular, and fulfilled a specific set of requirements, but we were getting more and more requests for a product that could be managed directly from the digital control surface. It was the ideal opportunity for us to take this range of products to the next level. The result is a single remotely-controllable product with state-of-the-art mic preamps that is compatible with both ES-100 and ES-Giga for even greater flexibility."
