Up to a 30% discount on insurance for qualified riggers announced
UK - Doodson Entertainment Insurance is now offering up to a 30% discount on Public Liability insurance to NRC qualified riggers. Doodson Entertainment's existing freelancer offering (which benefits from international geographical & jurisdictional cover) now recognises this important qualification. Level 2 achievers will benefit from a 20% discount and Level 3 achievers will benefit from a huge 30% on Doodson Entertainment's usual premiums.

Doodsons has traditionally supported freelance riggers and rigging companies as part of its commitment to the entertainment industry. The company was brought to the attention of PLASA by members of the Rigging community as a major player in providing insurance for freelance technicians. With a shared vision and commitment to a safer industry they have worked together to find a way to advantage riggers who have achieved the National Rigging Certificate.

Gary Brooks of Doodson Entertainment was invited to watch NRC assessments take place at the Total Solutions assessment Centre in Birmingham and was impressed with the professionalism of the assessment team and the rigour of the process.

Gary commented: "We are extremely proud to acknowledge the National Rigging Certificate in this way. We recognise the certification process as one that provides evidence of not just competency, but achievement to industry recognised professional standards. As one of the UK's leading entertainment insurance brokers, Doodson Entertainment is keen to reward those who have made the commitment to achieve this qualification. Accidents do sometimes happen, but unfortunately in today's culture there is often a resulting process of blame. The very existence of this sort of industry specific qualification can markedly increase defensibility in such circumstances."

Paul Riddiford PLASA's NRC Manager added: "PLASA are delighted to have Doodson Entertainment support in recognising the importance of the National Rigging Certificate in identifying and promoting competence within the rigging industry. It is our hope that as many NRC qualified riggers as possible will be afforded financial benefits from their achievements, whilst continuing to raise industry standards."
