Clarity's MD, Stuart Graham, with the newly installed iDR-4 unit at St. Michael's Catholic Grammar School, London.
UK - UK installer, Clarity in Sound Light & Vision, recently carried out a major upgrade to the main hall sound system at St Michael's Catholic Grammar School in Finchley, North London, selecting Allen & Heath's iDR-4 DSP mixer at the heart of the new system. The Hall is used for various events in the School's calendar including theatrical productions, music concerts, assemblies, and church services, so the sound system needed to be adaptable.

The iDR unit not only controls levels and zoning for the 4 Martin Audio speakers but also uses some of its powerful processing features, such as output delays and parametric EQ's on the outputs, to eliminate feedback for the large number of Sennheiser lapel mics that the school uses, as well as a wide variety of media playback devices. Soft keys on the front of the iDR unit are programmed to easily recall presets for the different events taking place.

Clarity's MD, Stuart Graham, commented: "After attending one of Allen & Heath's iDR training sessions, I was convinced this was the best solution for the project. iDR offers an amazing amount of control and flexibility to an installation company, while providing the end user with all the simple day-to-day functionality they require. The iDR range is such a good solution that I have already specified more iDR systems for future installations."
