David Tyas presenting his seminar at ISCEx2011-03-21
UK - All exhibition spaces were taken at ISCEx2011 and the wide variety of exhibitors and seminars attracted a larger than ever number of bookings at an event that goes from strength to strength each year, say the organisers.

Kraken Acoustics used the exhibition in Watford to launch their new carbon fibre BB80 micro-bass loudspeaker together with the unique BB80 X3 active crossover amplifier and were very impressed with the excellent turnout.

Andy Tinsey, of Kraken Acoustics, said, "Many thanks for the organisation of a great exhibition. We were extremely pleased with the response to our product launch which has generated enquiries worldwide and are happy that we chose ISCEx2011 to do it."

Tony Torlini, of Fuzion plc, was also happy. He said, "As an exhibitor, ISCEx2011 was a great success with a good solid flow of industry professionals, generating a good number of leads, especially for a one-day show. The seminars scheduled throughout the day were particularly relevant and interesting."

The popular seminars, which ran alongside the exhibition, covered a variety of topics.

Tony Payn of Vimpex talked about voice sounders for evacuation and how they meet the requirements of alarm systems. This was followed by a seminar by David Tyas of Ikon AVS, who gave an interesting presentation about video for audio engineers and how incorporating video into a system can be a good additional source of revenue for audio professionals.

In the afternoon, Gordon Morris, of Gordon Morris, with his first hand experience as a user of hearing aids for more than 50 years, told a fascinated audience about why loop systems are failing, covering both the technical and human complexity it involves.

The day concluded with a presentation from Peter Alberry-King, of Penton UK, who covered the topical subject of Loudspeakers and EN 54 part 24. He explained what the certification is, the reasons for its introduction, and explored the implications that EN54 has for both manufactures and installers.

Roland Hemming, of RH Consulting, said: "As first-time visitors to the show, we thought it was great. Despite its small size there were a good number of useful people to speak to and it will definitely be on our annual must-do list from now on."
