USA - Production services provider Big Mo Pro (BMP) of Parsippany, NJ, recently brought out its L-Acoustics Kudo rig for a pair of events at Liberty State Park on Jersey City's waterfront.

With Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty and Lower Manhattan as the spectacular backdrop, BMP provided sound and lighting for the big LibertyJAM concert on Sunday 25June, featuring a line-up of artists, including Cheap Trick, George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic, Los Lobos, Patti Smith, The Smithereens, Fab Faux, John Eddie and Exit 105. Celebrating the park's historic 30th anniversary, the purpose of the event was to raise funds to benefit The Friends of Liberty State Park, a non-profit volunteer organisation dedicated to preserving and improving the park for free public use.

For concert sound reinforcement, BMP chose to fly a twin pair of 15-box Kudo arrays. "Kudo was perfect for LibertyJAM," says BMP CFO Glenn Radler. "Not only was it an ideally sized enclosure, both in terms of physical hang and throw for a crowd of this size, but the fidelity of the box is exceptional - especially when used in conjunction with our Lake DSP units."

Down on the 50' x 40' Stageline SAM550 stage augmented with numerous extension decks, BMP additionally deployed 16 L-Acoustics 112XT stage wedges plus two 115XT on the drum risers over subs.

Then, just over a week later, Big Mo Pro brought its Kudo rig out to the waterfront again to provide reinforcement for Liberty State Park's Independence Day festivities, which culminated with a live synchronised performance by the New York Pops in Manhattan accompanying Macy's 30th Annual Fourth of July fireworks extravaganza.

According to BMP President Greg Rosenkrans: "Big Mo Pro was one of the first companies in the US to buy Kudo more than a year ago, and now we're looking to add even more enclosures to our inventory this fall. It's become our main 'workhorse' large enclosure here and we love it for its versatility. We use them in traditional array form, put them on their sides for alternate dispersion, use them in 'three packs' for delays - you name it. We've used Kudo in just about every possible configuration and application it was designed for and it's been amazing."

Big Mo Pro has also recently used its Kudo and 112XT enclosures on shows for Michael Cavanaugh, Buddy Guy with Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Aretha Franklin, Train, The Go-Go's, The 2006 Peabody Awards, Barry Manilow, The New Cars, Wynton Marsalis, Sara Evans, The Dixie Chicks, Paul Simon, and other corporate industrial shows.
