The Volvo Museum - an important addition to the portfolio of architectural installations in Sweden by Bellalite using the LDR architectural range.
Sweden - Sweden is the country of Volvo, and at Gothenburg's Volvo Museum, visitors can take a trip through Volvo's history and heritage, all the way from its foundation in Gothenburg in 1927.

Over the years, the museum has expanded to an area of 8,000sq.m, becoming one of the city's main attractions for more than 100,000 tourists from all over the world. With the target of sustaining the beauty of the works on display in the new 2000sq.m pavilion 'Life at the Extreme' dedicated to the Volvo ocean race and golf tournament, particular attention was given to the quality of the light and aesthetic of the products.

The lighting project was commissioned to Mediatec, one of Europe's largest corporations specialising in delivering AVL integrated solutions, with the specific aim to integrate the lighting system in the existing building architecture. Bellalite, exclusive distributor of LDR's lighting products for Sweden, provides local support to Mediatec supplying the museum with the right mix of floodlights, Fresnels and profiles luminaires contributing to the success of the museum.

"Our company," says Leif Lundgren from Bellalite, "is known for providing high quality service and great product to the Swedish market. This is an important addition to the existing portfolio of architectural installations made in Sweden by Bellalite using the LDR architectural range.

"It was a challenging architectural project since we had to provide an answer to different needs with one unique solution," comments LDR's Fabiano Besio. "The performances of the CDM lamp [12000hrs , CRI >90 with a choice of 3000°K and 4500 °K] coupled with a built-in ballast and compact stylish Italian design drive the choice of the architects."

"Our theatre background and passion for lighting was taken into the architectural market with success," says Besio. "We are particularly proud of the results and the continued success is proving that we made the right choice. Special thanks goes to Mediatec and Bellalite, and to all the people involved with this project."
