Music Matters Live was broadcast live on YouTube from the event's main Fountain Stage in Clarke Quay
Singapore - Singapore's award-winning Music Matters Live with HP brings together the music and entertainment industry of the region in one place. With over 60 bands, 18 countries, and 170 shows the event is a global platform that connects the music industry with fans through a strong line-up of local and international bands. Emerging and established bands from Asia and around the world took to the main Fountain Stage over the course of the festival, where D.A.S. Audio professional sound systems delivered superior sound that wowed the crowds.

Music Matters Live was broadcast live on YouTube from the event's main Fountain Stage in Clarke Quay, an entertainment hotspot on Singapore's waterfront. Yet the massive event also required the collaboration of other venues around the city, including two Timbre Group locales which are no strangers to D.A.S. Audio: both are fitted out with a range of D.A.S. professional systems.

When Music Matters Live event organizer Branded called in event managers and producers Showmakers to provide the sound for the festival, the sound technicians from this one-stop event production house immediately knew that the rugged and reliable D.A.S. Audio professional sounds systems would get the job done.

The Clarke Quay venue posed a challenge for the Showmakers team, who worked closely with D.A.S. Audio's Singapore office on the sound design and installation at the Music Matters Live Fountain Stage. Given the bustling activity at Clarke Quay the technicians had limited time to set up and decided on the compact yet powerful D.A.S. Aero 12A and LX-218CA systems as the best option for the FOH.

A total of eight D.A.S. Aero 12A compact line arrays were ground-stacked in two clusters of four units each on opposite sides of the stage. These efficient and powerful systems were matched with four high-performance LX-218CA subwoofers, also ground-stacked in a classic left/right/centre configuration to provide complete sound coverage for the over 6,000 fans who packed the venue over the course of the four-day event.

Showmakers opted to bring in eight D.A.S. Avant 12A, a versatile active speaker system, to handle stage monitor duties. These robust systems performed flawlessly and delivered high sound pressure for the legions of bands that crossed the stage at Music Matters Live. For the cleanest sound on the market the sound technicians rounded out the system with D.A.S. Audio DSP-4080 processors.

Raj, a veteran sound engineer with almost 15 years' experience in the industry, handled the mixing of numerous bands each night with only a short sound check between set breaks. He notes, "The D.A.S. Aero 12A and LX-218CA can be tuned to sound almost like any other speaker system that you want to hear, and yet it has its own characteristic sound. It's a very easy system to work with and gave me exactly what I needed for each band."
