UK -The Technical Theatre Awards' nominations close on Wednesday 13 May - so now's the time to ensure someone's outstanding achievements working behind the scenes are celebrated.

Anyone working in theatre industry can nominate their colleagues, crew members or favourite hire company. This is your opportunity to highlight why your chosen nominee stands out from the rest and deserves some recognition. It only takes a few minutes to nominate at www.technicaltheatreawards.com

Nominations will officially close during PLASA Focus in Leeds. Following this, organiser Ian Taylor will be inviting a panel of independent industry figures to shortlist the nominations. This is a new initiative for 2015, as suggested by TTA supporters as a way to improve the awards process.

Voting for the UK awards will open during the ABTT Trade Show on Wednesday 24 June 2015 at Alexandra Palace in London. Voting will remain open to the public until Sunday 20 September 2015 when votes will be verified and counted.

On Monday 5 October 2015, during PLASA London 2015, the TTAs will be presented at an evening award ceremony on-board the Sunborn Yacht next to London ExCel with a sponsored drinks reception and entertainment.

"We are delighted to have sponsors such as Phillips, PRG, GDS, Charcoalblue, Design Software Solutions, Rigging Team, SNP Productions, Total Solutions Group and Pigs Might Fly South already agreeing to support the awards this year," says Taylor. "But as ever we are looking for more companies to become involved supporting the awards and people working in the industry, If you think you or your company would be interested in getting involved please contact us we would love to chat about the opportunities available."

Along with the launch of a new look website comes the integration of the TTA's brand new Technical Theatre Directory. The Directory is an opportunity for any company to create a free listing for their business and show support for the awards. Registration is fast and simple and you can updated your details and images at any time.

"The aim of the TTAs is to bring our technical theatre industry closer together, so we've introduced the Technical Theatre Directory as a key component to our newly designed website," adds Taylor. "This allows ANY company within the theatre industry to freely list their services, making their information easily accessible to TTA followers and the theatre industry."

The TTAs will also be at Stage | Set | Scenery this year in Berlin from the 9-11 June 2015 to promote the development of the awards into Europe over the coming years.

"We feel this is a great opportunity to increase exposure for our sponsors and bring them better value for their support," says Taylor.
