UK - The nominations for the Olivier Awards with MasterCard - the most prestigious event in the UK's theatrical calendar - have been announced, and The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time leads the list with eight nominations, followed by Top Hat receiving seven, and the West End transfer of Chichester Festival Theatre's revival of Sweeney Todd in close competition with six. Other stand-out nominations include The Audience and Kiss Me, Kate receiving five each, and Constellations, The Bodyguard and Twelfth Night with four.

In the design categories, the White Light Award for Best Lighting Design nominees are Paul Anderson for The Master And Margarita; Paule Constable for The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time; Lee Curran for Constellations and Mark Henderson for Sweeney Todd.

The Best Sound Design nominees are Ian Dickinson for The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time; Paul Groothuis for Sweeney Todd; David McSeveney for Constellations, and Gareth Owen for Top Hat.

The nominees for Best Costume Design are Bob Crowley for The Audience; Jon Morrell for Top Hat; Jenny Tiramani for Twelfth Night and Anthony Ward for Sweeney Todd.

Finally, the XL Video Award for Best Set Design nominees are Hildegard Bechtler for Top Hat; Miriam Buether & Wang Gongxin for Wild Swans; Bunny Christie & Finn Ross for The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time, and Tim Hatley for The Bodyguard.

The Olivier Awards ceremony will take place at the Royal Opera House on Sunday 28 April, hosted by Hugh Bonneville and Sheridan Smith. The full list of nominations now online at the web address below.
