Osram is official lighting provider at Expo 2010 in Shanghai
China - Osram's new HTI 1500W/60/P50 Lok-it! system high-pressure discharge lamp for entertainment lighting has celebrated its premiere at the opening event and in other applications all over the Expo 2010 site in Shanghai. As the official lighting provider at Expo 2010, Osram's lighting technology features on more than 40 buildings.

Compared with the previous version, the HTI 1500W has been designed to be even more robust. With the aid of a new burner and higher temperature resistance the lamp produces constant light throughout its entire operating life.

The new HTI 1500W lamp is suitable for use in effects lighting or in moving heads. These flexible, multifunctional headlamps for theatre or events technology enable light to be pointed in virtually any direction, says the company. eXtreme-Seal technology (XS technology) also improves thermal capacity, so cooling can be reduced and the corresponding luminaires run quieter. Luminaires with Lok-it! lamps can therefore be deployed even more flexibly. Plus, the new metal halide lamps have a colour temperature of 6,000K, a very high colour rendering index of >90 and luminous flux of 135,000lm.

Fitting Lok-it! lamps is especially safe with its bayonet system of lamp base and socket, adds the company. You can replace lamps using just one hand. Simply insert, twist and the lamp is precisely in place and fitted. Thanks to a mechanical locking device, the socket cannot be twisted too tight. For stage lighting this means new lamps can be easily fitted into the spotlights even under difficult conditions, for example at great heights. Lok-it! lamps are available with either the compact PGJX28 or the larger PGJX50 base.
