Nepalese Himalayan folk/rock band Nepathya at London's Wembley Arena
UK - Birmingham-based sound and lighting production company DMX Productions supplied their new Robe Pointe moving lights for a high-profile one off concert by popular Nepalese Himalayan folk/rock band Nepathya, at London's Wembley Arena.

SJ Grevett of DMX Productions managed the show's production and the lighting/video design was overseen by Tom Grant, working on behalf of rental company Siyan Ltd. Siyan provided the rest of the lighting and rigging equipment, including Robe LEDWash 600s and MMX Spot fixtures.

Formed by three students studying in Kathmandu, Nepal in the early 1990s, Nepathya fuses folk melodies with new and exciting pop and rock tunes and formats and have consistently gained popularity and acclaim.

The starting point for the lighting designs was Nepathya's 2012 Australian tour. Some elements of this were replicated for this show, including three upstage/downstage 'finger' trusses and a back LED screen wall. Components of the system were scaled up in size to appear suitably impressive on the Wembley stage.

The LEDWash 600s were placed on the finger trusses and used for comprehensive cross stage washes. The individual ring control created particularly eye-catching effects.

The MMX Spots were used for crisp, clean front key lighting and gobo washes across the performance area.

The Pointes were also rigged on the finger trusses, flanked each side by LEDWashes. As the show's core fixtures, The Pointes provided a flamboyant and dynamic lighting centrepiece where their multi-functionality was truly at work.

All the Robes, together with other moving and generic fixtures, were programmed and run on the night by Yenz Nyholm using an Avolites Sapphire Touch console.

"I really wanted to show off what these Pointes could bring to the visual equation," stated SJ. "The Pointe is a fixture completely in its own league."

DMX Productions has been buying Robe products for over five years, but this show provided the first outing and show test for the Pointes. A busy schedule is mapped out for them in the coming months, which involves a wide variety of shows and events every week for the foreseeable future, as the company enjoys an excellent year.

SJ concluded by expressing his approval of the Pointes and added that "I'm sure there will be many more investments to follow."
