Eastbourne band Toploader have endorsed the Sennheiser product range.
Sennheiser UK is marking the 25th PLASA Show with the UK launch of several new products and ranges. The Sennheiser SKM 5000N Neumann-capsuled wireless microphone, the MKE Platinum ‘invisible’ miniature lavalier mic and the evolution eW550 touring twin wireless receiver are among major attractions for the live sound industry. The company will also be showing the Lab.gruppen range of power amplification for the first time, including the latest Iron Power and Ferrite Power ranges. Alongside all of which there will be the full range of Sennheiser and Neumann live and studio microphones, Sennheiser headsets, including the new HD280 pro DJ headphone, and D.A.S Audio sound reinforcement products and Mindprint signal processors. Sennheiser will also be unveiling an entire new innovative audio installation brand and new Sennheiser conferencing products at the show.

To accommodate the rapidly expanding range of Sennheiser, Neumann and distributed product lines, this year’s stand will occupy two bridged sites at F26 and F22 and will be attended by a large team Sennheiser’s product and sales specialists. Repeating the success of previous year’s demonstration facilities, the stand will feature a soundproofed booth for demonstration of sound reinforcement products from Lab.gruppen and D.A.S. Audio.

The Sennheiser SKM 5000N will be of major interest to sound engineers, artists and hire companies alike, following its high profile use on the Kylie Minogue tour and the Queen’s Golden Jubilee ‘Party at the Palace’. The unique hybrid mic makes use of a Neumann KK105-S capsule, combining Neumann’s trademark sonic performance with the quality of Sennheiser wireless technology.

Sennheiser will also be presenting the latest in lavalier/tie-clip miniature mic technology with the UK launch of the MKE Platinum, a sonically optimized sub-miniature condenser mic, featuring a specially robust ‘invisible’ cable, impressive max SPL of 142dB, low handling noise and a price point comparable with existing Sennheiser clip mics.

The evolution eW550 professional touring twin wireless receiver will be on show for the first time in the UK. This 19" rack-mount receiver is specially optimized for multi-channel applications and features an advanced RF input stage, an active antenna splitter powered by the unit’s internal power supply and a rugged full metal housing ideally suited to hostile touring environments. Professional features also include transformer balanced outputs, intuitive LED display, ‘Soundcheck’ set-up mode, two independent headphone outputs and advanced HDX compander circuitry.

Lab.gruppen’s enhanced successors to the highly regarded LAB range of power amps will be making their UK show debut, including the Iron Power range iP1150Q, a four channel model, ideal for use in multi-channel monitor systems, multi-channel SI applications and compact amplification in active 2-, 3- and 4-way systems. The Ferrite Power range of market leading switch mode technology models will also be represented, with power amps such as the 6400 Watt RMS, 10kg, 2U rack mounting fP6400 underlining Lab.gruppen’s combination of sound quality and exceptional power-to-weight ratio.

D.A.S. Audio’s new four-way, tri-amp’ed, full-range Compact 2 System, ideally suited for mid to large scale theatre and arena applications will be heard for the first time in the UK, in a demo room equipped with a full complement of D.A.S. Audio products. Spanning a wide range of live sound applications, including touring reinforcement, install and club markets, the cost competitive range displayed will also include the successful three-way self powered Compact 1 system cab and Active power range SUB-118A self-powered sub.
