The full suite of professional production features makes Gigastudio invaluable for creative DJs who can use instant playout and MIDI interfacing as part of their rig. A low-cost, entry-level version - GigaStudio 32 - offering 32 voice polyphony and 16 MIDI is also available.

PLASA will also see the UK launch of the SX-1 powerful 'integrated production environment'. The SX-1 uniquely integrates the production applications required for 5.1 audio projects within a single compact environment. A dedicated and optimised, high speed OS provides powerful automation, sequencing, editing and routing capabilities, enabling faster turnaround of projects. Extensive file format support, I/O, sync and chase capabilities, facilitate extensive interface with a wide range of industry standard production platforms and ease of integration into audio facilities operating these. The SX-1’s compact dimensions offer considerable opportunity to upgrade existing small and secondary pre-production rooms to a full surround sound production capability.

The DM-24 24/ 96 digital production console, now shipping in considerable numbers, is in use in studio and for live and IEM applications around the world. This comes in a 32-channel, 16-fader, 24-input, true 8-bus configuration, featuring full 5.1, 24/96 operation. The popular Tascam MX-2424 is now upgraded to include an innovative and road-tested ‘Theatre Play’ mode; a programmable instant cue and play mode, that offers 24-track, 24-bit recording and playback with all of the advantages and ease of a tape based style of operation.

The Tannoy Reveal range has been extended to include the Reveal X, a performance monitor with impressive bass handling characteristics, ideal for high SPL studio/remix applications or DJ booth monitoring. The Reveal X also operates as the centre channel speaker in the Reveal 5.1 surround sound system debuting at PLASA. The self-powered Ellipse 8 takes studio monitoring to new levels with its extended high frequency bandwidth supertweeter, and dual concentric LF/HF driver. Power is delivered by three discrete MOSFET amplifier circuits providing 150W each to the LF and HF and 30W to the wideband tweeter.
