Cyclone 8400 enclosure with a Christie 35K Roadie projector
USA / The Netherlands - The Blizzard and Cyclone enclosures from Tempest (ISE 2014, hall 4, stand V28) are designed to protect digital projectors outdoors from dust, sand, salt, oil, water, snow, sleet and smoke, and from impact and theft. Through its innovative Goldilocks system, Tempest enclosures eliminate overheating and condensation - the real enemy of delicate equipment outside - and are available in sizes for projectors from 3,000 to 40,000 lumens.

Tempest HUSH enclosures make it possible to use even the largest - and noisiest - cinema projectors inside, in complete silence. Whether a meeting room, classroom, live theatre or boothless cinema, Tempest has a HUSH enclosure for every application, virtually eliminating projector noise without having to build a projection booth. All Tempest enclosures are compliant with relevant European standards.

"Whether inside or out, in hot conditions or cold, you can be confident that Tempest is working to prolong the life of your projector," says Tim Burnham, Tempest's president. "We are protecting projectors North of the Arctic Circle and in desert locations like Dubai and Las Vegas, taking care of people's investments in technology. We even have enclosures right on the Boardwalk in Atlantic city where the projectors survived the full force of Hurricane Sandy without a scratch."

Tempest's Goldilocks operating system brings enclosure climate control to a new level. Goldilocks keeps the environment around the projector at optimum conditions, removing heat when the lamp is on or when the enclosure is heated by the sun, and working 24/7 to prevent the formation of deadly condensation. "We keep you warm when it's cold, cool when it's hot, and we NEVER allow condensation to form," continues Burnham. "Those are the keys to successful outdoor projection - and indoor noise attenuation too."

Projector installations often involve challenging locations where access is limited. With the addition of a Tempest RDM interface, the enclosures can easily be monitored remotely for all environmental and electrical parameters. Over a simple RS485 link, either one or many projectors may be monitored and controlled from a central location.

Tempest projector enclosures are compatible with all major projector manufactures and do not compromise a manufacturer's warranty.
