Country Music Awards - Miranda Lambert was the big winner at this year's Academy of Country Music awards, taking home three honours including female vocalist of the year. She also won song of the year for Over You, written with her husband Blake Shelton, who also hosted the show. Lambert said, "Thank you for accepting me as a songwriter and not just as a singer, that means the world to me." Shelton's co-host Luke Bryan was the surprise winner of the prestigious entertainer of the year award.

Taylor Swift was up for five awards but went home empty-handed. She performed with Keith Urban and Tim McGraw. Newcomer Hunter Hayes was nominated in six categories but also failed to win. He did get to perform with Motown legend Stevie Wonder on his new single I Want Crazy and a cover of Wonder's song Sir Duke.

Dirty Dancing - Producers of musical Dirty Dancing claim the show will sell its one millionth ticket this month since it began touring in September 2011. They expect the ticket to be sold on 10 April, with the tour having taken over £40m to date. Karl Sydow, producer, said, "Having hit an all-time record in the West End for an advance - £15m - we are delighted that we are about to sell our millionth ticket; an amazing achievement in the midst of a recession in the UK." The tour, directed by Sarah Tipple and written by Eleanor Bergstein, will visit Canterbury, Woking and Manchester in 2013. A new tour will launch in March 2014 at the Bristol Hippodrome.

Booking Fees - The average extra booking fees being charged on West End theatre tickets have nearly halved in the last year, according to annual survey. Additional fees charged after the initial price quoted to customers has fallen from an average of £1.96 in 2012 to £1.12 in 2013. In the commercial sector, the drop is even more stark - with extra fees falling from £2.21 on average in 2012 to £1.06 in 2013.

The drop in extra fees is primarily the result of more ticket agents including booking fees in the initial price of the ticket quoted to customers. There is still, however, a wide range of extra fees being charged. These include transaction fees, per ticket fees and charges for printing out tickets. The largest additional fee charged was for Let It Be at the Savoy Theatre, which charged an extra £5 on a single ticket - a mix of a £2 per ticket charge and a £3 transaction charge when booked through ATG tickets.
