UK - The University of Glamorgan is rapidly developing into one of the leading institutions for lighting in the UK. Having recently become an Associate Member of the Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA) the University has now been successful in setting up the first and only Certified WYSIWYG centre outside of London. As a CSP, the University is able to offer industry the full range of CSP services including large-format plan printing, rendering and animations.

The University of Glamorgan has also become the only university in the UK with an Authorised WYSIWYG Trainer (AWT). "These exciting developments put the University at the forefront of the industry and will ensure that students get the highest quality of WYSIWYG tuition possible," comments senior lecturer and lighting designer Stuart Green.

In addition to benefiting students on the BSc (Hons) Lighting Technology and BSc (Hons) Live Event Technology courses at the University as an AWT, the University of Glamorgan can provide training courses that have been approved by Cast Lighting and are offered to delegates on a one-to-one or small group basis, either at the client's premises or at one of the University's WYSIWYG suites.

To supplement the University's status as a WYSIWYG centre of excellence, Glamorgan has built upon its existing equipment with a Jands Vista T2, a selection of moving lights from Martin Pro, Vari-Lite and a number of the latest LED fixtures. The University of Glamorgan is able to provide a high level of service to both students and corporate clients, looking to save time and money by pre-programming or visualising events.
