UK - CAST's renowned WYSIWYG workshops have now been confirmed as part of the overall seminar and training programme at this year's PLASA Show (11-14 September, Earls Court 1, London). The workshops will offer an introduction to this industry-standard lighting visualisation software, which is used by lighting professionals the world over on productions ranging from major concerts to West End musicals, and from blockbuster movies to cutting-edge architectural installations.

Created by Cast Software, WYSIWYG has won many awards, including an Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Engineering Development. Lighting designers, programmers and operators can join Josh Koffman, WYSIWYG's product manager, for an overview of the system, before focusing on essentials such as basic CAD techniques, fixture selection and placement, rendering and plotting. Josh will also introduce attendees to the latest features in Release 14 of WYSIWYG and there'll be an opportunity to discuss the features you'd like to see in the future.The two single-day workshops take place from 10am-5pm on Monday 12 September and Tuesday 13 September in the Westminster Room at Earls Court. If you pre-register before Friday 2 September 2005, you pay just £125.00 plus VAT. Places will be available on the door at £140 plus VAT (subject to availability).

The WYSIWYG workshops are part of a much wider seminar and workshop programme which features practical workshops, business discussions and a series of sessions that highlight just how creative this industry is. Topics include Digital Scenography; System Integration; Energy Efficient LED Lighting; Screen Technologies; Digital Audio Networking and the Safe Use of Lasers, as well as a business-focused session looking at how the industry's leading innovators took their Ideas from Concept to Reality and an audience with lighting veteran Sonny Sonnenfeld.
