By Sound invests in Outline’s GTO
- Details
Recently, the company made a substantial investment in Outline's flagship loudspeaker system. The acquisition includes 24 GTO line-array elements, 24 DBS 18-2 subwoofers, 24 Mantas compact line-array enclosures, a Newton FPGA processor and a complete, ready-racked power, rigging, accessory and cabling solution.
Company director and partner Sarper Ulusel comments: “Our goal in choosing a new audio equipment brand was to find something unique and impactful for the Turkish market, not just another popular name. We spent about a year evaluating different brands, looking for one that offered us more than just market presence.
“Our criteria were based on technical capabilities and the potential to offer something different in a crowded market. With a history spanning 30 years in the industry, we've had the opportunity to work extensively with various speaker brands for tours, festivals, concerts, launches and numerous other events.
“Our first encounter with Outline's products was with the GTO during a live concert setup and what struck us initially was the flexibility of the Newton device; its intuitively-designed user interface allows such easy adjustments and system control. Following this, the performance of the GTO system itself left a lasting impression - the combination of high SPL, total lack of distortion and even coverage throughout the venue were remarkable.
“Outline’s products stood out clearly among four final contenders for our prospective purchase. The Newton device and power amplifiers in particular stood out for their technical excellence and reliability but we also saw the potential in Outline’s technology to bring something new to the Turkish market, a region where they were not yet widely recognised.
“Versatility is a significant advantage in a market that values adaptability and precision,” notes technical and operational director, Fatih Siranli. “The low latency and high processing capacity of the Newton’s FPGA-based design are critical for our work, especially when it comes to synchronising with various measurement programs during sound system setup.
“Additionally, one of the most crucial aspects of Newton is its ability to work with different protocols. This is incredibly beneficial for a company like ours, which uses a variety of sound systems. The ease of integrating Newton into these diverse systems without compromising on performance or reliability is a significant advantage, making it our preferred choice of processor.”
