The 2004 Homelands festival attracted tens of thousands of dance fans to enjoy a mix of live DJs and bands. This year they introduced the 'Strongbow Rooms' as the eighth performance arena, which hosted a diverse range of DJs including Jon Carter and MTV's comical and entertaining Cuban Brothers.
Strongbow maximized its branding on site, where enormous tents are the norm, by creating a club atmosphere and venue. Rather than large dark tents and grass for the floor, Strongbow created a higher quality experience for its visitors. Their marquee included its own DJ listing, outdoor terrace, bar and seated area, with wooden floors throughout, and it proved very popular with the festival goers.
Video design company 2Ci Sound to Light, created the specially designed visuals, maintaining the Strongbow brand experience. They contracted Plasmascreen Co to install one of its 84" screens next to the main stage and DJ box and a further six 50" screens. These were incorporated around the marquee and added to the atmosphere and experience of visitors. Plasmascreen Co project manager Peter Grant and technician Marcus Wilder were on site to ensure the installation went smoothly and to provide technical support throughout the event.
Habs Akram, of 2Ci commented: "The screens were the ideal choice for the Strongbow Rooms, as they were an effective and technologically advanced visual medium for the dynamic graphics we wanted to display on them. They looked fantastic and everyone was so pleased with the results, especially the use of the 84" screen which was definitely something special."
