Spain - As part of its Presidency of the European Commission, Spain has recently played host to several high-level European events. The 134th Europol Meeting of the Management Board in Zaragoza was a standout amongst these, due to the scale of the conferencing solution required.
The Europol Management event is a gathering of all the European police force representatives to talk about international coordination and actions to ensure security within Europe.
Having provided the AV solution for the 2022 NATO summit in Madrid, Ditec Comunicaciones was well placed to support El Cuerpo Nacional de Policía (Spain’s national police corps) in delivering this similar event. With the large number of delegates and variety of languages required, the Ditec team chose the comprehensive Dicentis conference system from Bosch Building Technologies.
Ditec specified a conferencing solution that comprised 66 Dicentis interpreter desks alongside 75 push to talk Dicentis discussion devices for the delegates and 150 Integrus pocket receivers for the rest of the attendees.
One of the major advantages of the Dicentis conferencing solution was its ability to integrate with other third-party systems. The 66 Dicentis interpreter desks were split over 22 Audicom simultaneous translation booths which were spread around the edge of the meeting space. In addition, seven Avonic PTZ cameras seamlessly integrated with the Dicentis discussion devices. The push to talk button of the devices initiated automatic camera switching and provided the interpreter desks and displays in the hall with the visual feed.
Due to the amount of equipment needed for the event, Ditec was able to count on the help of other Congress Rental Network (CRN) partners. The company called on the support of Jacot Audiovisueel from the Netherlands and Smart Choice Audiovisuais, Lda from Portugal to ensure that there was enough equipment on site and enough experts at the event to ensure the success of the meeting.
The result was a meeting where every delegate could be understood and every participant could hear what was being said. “European meetings are very demanding, and every detail has to be covered perfectly,” reflects Ditec’s sales manager Roger Grau.
“With a tight timeframe and a large amount of equipment to be brought in, the event needed exemplary coordination from the beginning to the end. Thanks to our experience with these kinds of events, the ease of use of the Dicentis system, and support from fellow CRN members we were able to deliver a high-quality event which our clients were delighted with.”
